Judy Conn - Poppy Lane Rugs
Judy has been involved in the arts community for over twenty years, making quilts, painting, flower arranging and creating one of a kind handbags, however in 2012 she attended her first fibre arts event which changed everything. After trying her hand at traditional rug hooking she started doing some research and found Punch Needle Rug hooking. The discovery of this craft took Judy by storm and she has since created a studio in her home and has attended several workshops and classes at The Oxford School of Punch Needle Rug Hooking in Cornwall, Vermont. She has gone on to participate in the Teacher’s Certification program at the Oxford School of Punch Needle Rug hooking and graduated in October 2016; she looks forward to sharing this wonderful art form in her community.
She has participated in several gallery events, commissions, and private sales where she has sold many of her hooked pieces, including chair pads, wall hangings, trivets and table top coverings. Judy has learned to dye her own yarn and loves to incorporate different types of yarns in her pieces to create texture and interest, and is most passionate about the ability to ’paint with yarn’.
